Parcent is a pretty little Spanish pueblo. The famous modernist writer and poet Gabriel Miró said of the village "it is a paradise between the mountains". A quiet idyll in the countryside, it attracts walkers and cyclists and those searching for an escape from the noise and pollution of their everyday lives.

The house has a fabulous history. Built in 1900 by a local landowner and wine producer, it would have been one of the most important houses in the village. It is a joy to step back in time and have insight into a bygone age. The house is still, to this day, owned by the same family and they have proudly preserved it. Its features are all original and stunning, exactly as they are. However, with some careful research and a lot of love, there is an opportunity to restore the plasterwork and paint work to take it back to its glory days and bring it up to date at the same time. The house needs someone with passion and vision, NOT someone with an enormous budget. This is a labour of love not money.

The doors, windows and integrated furniture are all made to measure, from Canadian pine, which the family imported especially.

The ironwork on the staircase and fireplace were forged and moulded especially for the house.

The original wood burning, cooking range is still in excellent working order and helps to heat the house and the water.

The top floor is a blank canvas. A superb master bedroom suite? A gymnasium? A studio for those artists and writers? After all, Miró found inspiration here?

Here at Jacaranda Spain, we would love to see someone, as fascinated by it as we are, take it on. What a privilege to own a house like this. To love it, call it home and be part of its history in years to come.
