Jalón or Xaló, to give the town its original Valencian name, is also known as the capital of the "Valle de Pop" ( the ex pats call it the Jalon Valley). Situated in the bowl of the valley it is surrounded by a magnificent mountain backdrop. With over 3000 inhabitants, it is a bustling town which attracts tourists in their droves. Famously producing wine, almonds, olives and citrus fruits. There is a Saturday flea market or Rastro as well as a produce market every Tuesday in the Central Plaza.
