Jalon
Jalón or Xaló, to give the town its original Valencian name, is also known as the capital of the "Valle de Pop" ( the ex pats call it the Jalon Valley). Situated in the bowl of the valley it is surrounded by a magnificent mountain backdrop. With over 3000 inhabitants, it is a bustling town which attracts tourists in their droves. Famously producing wine, almonds, olives and citrus fruits. There is a Saturday flea market or Rastro as well as a produce market every Tuesday in the Central Plaza. Jalón is high on the list of places to relocate on the Costa Blanca North, being easily accessible to the coastal towns and resorts but also far enough away for those looking for tranquility.
