El Portet- Moraira. 

One of the most popular areas on the Costa Blanca is the coastal town of Moraira. This beautiful town is rather cosmopolitan and, although it is very busy in the summer months, it never feels overcrowded. The streets have a wonderful vibe and stay busy until late but if you want cheap drinks and dancing in the streets, you would be in the wrong place. Moraira is popular with holidaymakers looking for a relaxing retreat, families and people who live or have second homes here.  

Moraira has always been a dream location for foreign buyers looking to relocate or buy a holiday home. Those who want to be near the sea often put Moraira, with its pretty cobbled streets and buzzing promenade, at the top of their wish list. In particular the coastal district and residential area of El Portet is only a kilometre from the centre of Moraira and has established itself as the perfect destination.  For those looking for a new life close to the beach but not necessarily right in the centre of the hustle and bustle of a busy coastal resort, El Portet is well worth looking at. Moraira is a 15-20 minute walk away or a 5 minute drive so you get the best of both worlds.

The beach of El Portet is a 350m long stretch of soft sand, perfect for families as it is narrow and the sea is shallow and crystal clear. This shell shaped cove is sheltered by rocks on both sides which means the sea is always very calm. This Blue Flag beach is perfect for swimming, paddleboarding and snorkeling, with a coastguard in the summer months, foot showers and it is wheelchair friendly. The promenade overlooking the beach has several bar/restaurants, all great for tapas and cold drinks in the summer, but also nice for a coffee during your morning stroll in the winter months. The walk along to Moraira, for a spot of shopping or a larger choice of eateries, takes 15 minutes. This walk is part of the many stunning coastal walks along the Costa Blanca.

El Portet has become a much sought after real estate area. Although it is highly developed, the homes here are largely high-end Mediterranean villas,  small exclusive developments or contemporary, Ibizan style properties. The planning laws are strict and there are no high rise blocks or massive developments, which is why El Portet has become so popular with wealthy Spanish families and foreign buyers. There is a welcoming community spirit here that makes it a real retreat, but with the hustle and bustle and holiday vibe only a stones throw away.
