Spain News | 5 Reasons why Benissa is one of the prime locations in the Costa Blanca to relocate. .
5 Reasons to include Benissa when you are looking to buy your dream Spanish property.
Here at Jacaranda Spain we are proud to promote locations all over the Marina Alta and the Costa Blanca North. However, one area that is not always on the wish list for those searching for their dream home here, is Benissa. When a foreign buyer contacts us to begin their search, you can usually guess where they will want to look. If it is a coastal property they want, the location they have searched most online will be Moraira, Javea, Altea or Denia.
It is something of a surprise that more prospective buyers don´t add Benissa to their list. Benissa Costa is simply stunning and not over-developed or over-populated by the foreign market. From dramatic cliffs and rockfaces to surprising, intimate coves and beaches.
Here are five very good reasons to take more notice of Benissa:
1)Peace and Tranquility- The Benissa Costa has it all! Even in the summer months you don´t get the heaving crowds and the endless search for somewhere to park. The inland, rural areas of Benissa have close links to the many pueblos of the inland Marina Alta and are very popular with walkers and country lovers.
2)Beaches- Very popular with divers and snorkelers, the sea is crystal clear along this coastline. From the immaculate, sandy, family beach of La Fustera, where you can rent kayaks and paddleboards, to the harbour at Les Bassetes with a diving and sailing school and a yacht club. The coves of Advocat and Baladrar are perfect to find a spot for lunch overlooking the Mediterranean sea and Llobella and Cala Pinets are hidden gems.

3)Culture- The town of Benissa is steeped in history. The Basilica of the Immaculate Conception and St Peter the Apostle towers majestically over a stunning central plaza with a water fountain.

The town has more Spanish residents than foreign and the fiestas and culture go back centuries. The magnificent parades of the Moors and Christians at the end of June and the poignant religious processions of San Antonio in January and Semana Santa (Easter week). Furthermore the town has many historic buildings and museums that preserve the past to fascinate those with a love for history.
4)Accessibility- 50 minute drive to the airport at Alicante and just over an hour to Valencia. The N332 is the national road that connects all the main towns and the AP7 motorway has an exit and access in Benissa. Whether you want a day at the beach or a hike around the dramatic Sierra de Bernia mountain, it is all within easy reach.
5)Gastronomy- Benissa has a multitude of excellent restaurants. Tapas bars, Italian, Mediterranean, paella, seafood and the list goes on! Benissa has a diverse choice of gastronomy, thanks to it´s influences from the sea and the mountains.
Benissa has everything the other coastal resorts have and more!
The not-to-be-missed, Moors and Christians parades when everyone in the town takes part and the costumes are spectacular. A leisurely Saturday morning at the produce market that sets up in the streets. A favourite place to spend a beach day at La Fustera and lunch at Mandala beach bar. Our go-to place to eat on a summer evening in the plaza or just an ice cream next to the water fountain with all the locals and families. A walk along the coastal paths with our pointer Sunny, with a coffee stop at Les Bassetes on the way. We urge you to explore and discover Benissa - the location that just keeps on giving!
